Types of Swaging Dies

There are two different kinds of swaging/crimping die sets dependant on the equipment you have available and the intended application. Larger sizes of fittings and wire rope almost always require a hydraulic machine press, stainless steel fittings also require extra pressure due to the strength of the material.

Depending on the material, size and application there can be two options for creating a termination using cable and wire rope.

Machine Pressing Dies

TALURIT Straight Through Dies

Talurit straight through die sets suitable for use with Talurit 20 and 30 tonne presses, providing a strong reliable termination which can be rated to 90% of the breaking load of the cable provided the ferrules and cable meet the relevant standards. TECNI always recommends proof testing at least one assembly to your required loading, we can offer in-house testing if you require it. Hexloc Die Sets

These hardened Hexloc pressing dies are designed for use with the Talurit 20 tonne, 30 tonne and 40 tonne hydraulic swaging machine for pressing stainless steel fittings & other materials. Common applications include balustrade, static suspension and signage.

Designed for use with the Talurit 20 tonne and 30 tonne hydraulic swaging machine for pressing stainless steel ball fittings including the Mil-Spec BA-3 and MS20664 ranges.

YCP-240C Die Sets

The YCP-240C Portable Hydraulic Crimping tool comes with a set of Round and Hex dies as standard. If you require the ball dies these are available separately to purchase in your required sizes. This is a versatile tool which is often used for a variety of cable repairs, creating security cables and lanyards..

Ball Dies - specifically designed for swaging Mil-Spec MS20664 Shank Ball Terminals & BA3 ball terminals from 0.8mm up to 5mm. Perfect for gym cable repair.
Hexagon Dies - suitable for use with stainless swage fittings from wire rope sizes 2mm up to 5mm. Common applications include - display and static suspension applications and balustrade.
Round Dies - or "straight dies" - ideal for swaging ferrules to create lanyards and thimble eyes using cable sizes 4mm up to 8mm.
